We’re excited to announce that expressions of interest are now open for Waterpolooza 2025 – an under-12s water polo tournament being held in Canberra on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2025.
This fun and inclusive tournament is a fantastic opportunity for young players to compete, build skills and represent the Sutherland Shire SEALS.
Who can play?
We’re looking for enthusiastic players born in 2014 and 2015. Boys and girls are welcome to apply.
We will be holding a trial day, where interested players can come along, train with others and try out for team selection. The trial date will be 9th and 16th August at Sutherland Leisure Centre - time TBC.
Teams
We are aiming to enter the following teams with up to 9 players:
Training Sessions
To prepare, we will be running training sessions in the lead up to the tournament. We will be training on Thursdays and looking to hold weekend sessions (more info to come).
Intended training sessions:
· Thursday 21st August – 6:30pm-7:30pm – Caringbah Leisure Centre
· Thursday 28th August – 6:30pm-7:30pm – Caringbah Leisure Centre
· Thursday 4th September - 6:30pm-7:30pm – Caringbah Leisure Centre
· Thursday 11th September - 6:30pm-7:30pm – Caringbah Leisure Centre
· Thursday 18th September - 6:30pm-7:30pm – Caringbah Leisure Centre
· Saturday 23rd August – Time TBC - Sutherland Leisure Centre
· Saturday 30th August - Time TBC - Sutherland Leisure Centre
· Saturday 6th September - Time TBC - Sutherland Leisure Centre
· Saturday 13th September - Time TBC - Sutherland Leisure Centre
Cost
The cost to participate will be approx. $160 per player, which includes FREE entry to all pools for players, coaches, officials, and spectators.
Families will be responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation. However, SSWPA has a list of recommended places to stay, and we will share this with families once we have a clearer idea of our teams. Families will be required to book accommodation for Friday and Saturday night.

Communication
All communication for Waterpolooza will be managed through the Heja app. This will be where you’ll receive updates, schedules and important information.
